Solar Eclipse

The energies in the ethers seem to be building in the transformational, forward thinking sign of Aquarius. We have Jupiter strolling through this sign for the next 12 months, Neptune has been in this sign for a long spell, Mercury is retrograde in Aquarius, the New moon will be in Aquarius, and now the Sun will transit, with a Solar Eclipse on January 25th at 6' Aquarius. When planets are bunched up (holding hands) together in one sign like this, it augments the energy of that sign. Add to that a Solar eclipse, and it packs a powerful punch!

This feels like a lovely foundation for the kick off of the new presidency - the planets are all about supporting positive change, revolutionary leadership, the greatest good of the people, and the people coming together to help each other. Truly, we do belong to each other; this will be seen and felt more and more in the coming months. Aquarius is all about Freedom....it does not like to be tied down. It is not a selfish sign, it is more about the people gathering together for the good of the planet, the group. Join up with others of like mind at this critical time in history, and whatever you need personally will fall into place - trust that this is true!

The last time we had a simiar aspect was in January of 1990 - what was happening for you at that time? in your corner of the world?

Astrologers have taught that solar eclipses support catalytic energy for endings and beginnings in our lives. This is a window of opportunity for us to use for the good of all. I would guess that the 25th would be a wonderful day for positive affirmation, creative visualization, and any kind of ritual that helps the individual find their place in the group, the cog fitting into the universal wheel, with the trust that all that you need is here already. The time to serve the planet is now.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2009!

Astrological New Year

2009 and the Aquarian influence…..

Jupiter’s movement into Aquarius
January 5, 2009 marks the beginning of a brand-new, 12 year cycle, as Jupiter, planet of abundance, prosperity, expansion and opportunity, moves into the sign of Aquarius. Jupiter is the largest planet in our system, famous for the storm/eye. To give you an idea of how large it is, back in 1996, an asteroid hit the planet causing an explosion three times the size of our earth - and it barely made a dent into Jupiter! The cycle of Jupiter is one full year in a given astrological sign, so every 12 years Jupiter makes a visit to a particular astrological constellation. It will remain in Aquarius until January of 2010. Jupiter is symbolic of large scale things, wherever it lands in your birth chart it indicates expansion and opportunity, things opening up and moving. It’s known as a “positive” cycle, so enjoy it in whatever form it may take!

Aquarius is known for being the sign of the Reformer, of positive global change. It is good for gathering groups of like minded people together for change. Aquarius is a wonderful environment or ecology in which to perculate any ideas or visions for helping our planet or humanity. This may take the form of new technology - cars that run on water, homes heated by solar power, and the like - or may be more mundane, such as innovative ways of making daily life more harmonious, green, earth friendly. Aquarius relates to other issues such as diversity, equality, innovation, reform, collaboration, community. When Saturn shifts into Libra in October 2009, a new page is turned in terms of our ability and our interest to connect with each other, as a group and individuals, to facilitate change. I foresee a spark growing in people, a deepening awareness of just how very connected we really are.

This is an especially good cycle in which to have others of like mind gather together, as Aquarius favors group work as opposed to the lone ranger method of creating change. Are there groups around you that you would like to connect with? Or perhaps there is need to create one? People these days seem to be longing for….something….they seem hungry, incomplete, unsatisfied with the status quo. The time for positive change is afoot….what will your role in this be? What would you like it to be? The last time Jupiter visited Aquarius was in 1997 - what was going on in your life at that time?

Jupiter will shake hands with Neptune in the sign of Aquarius on three specific dates in 2009: May 23, July 10, and December 20. Our hopes, dreams, and wishes get the green light during these times; it is a wonderful window of opportunity to use creative visualization and/or prayer to get clarity on your heart’s desire, to put it into words or in writing or even have another/other witness your intention.

Eclipse action - Aquarius featured
January 25 will see a solar eclipse at 6’ Aquarius, followed by a lunar eclipse at 21’ Leo on February 9th.
August 3rd there is a lunar eclipse 13’ Aquarius as well. More will be shared on this at a later date.

Best wishes to all for a happy and health 2009. May you enjoy nurturing friendships, health, prosperity, and all that your heart yearns for.
