Coffee @ Hightstown area

Hello friends. My coffeedrinking companion and I stumbled upon a local treasure a few weeks ago, when we accidentally ran into The Slow Down Cafe in Highstown. And boy did we need to slow down! This delightful shop was an old fashioned ice cream parlor in days past, and retains its historical charm. The coffee was wonderful, and the soup was warming and good. Of note were the old church pews in the back of the room, as well as the beautifully framed invitation to the presidential inaugaration. Check them out on the web: http://www.slowdowncafe.com/

Grovers Mill and Coffee

I've been discovering coffee spots and cheap things to do in my neck of the woods in NJ. Some days, the winter days can just stretch out, each day the same as before. If you are looking for something unusual and fun, look no further than Grover's Mill/West Windsor, home to the new cafe/coffeehouse, Grover's Mill Coffee. Make no mistake about it, this is no ordinary coffeehouse! It is themed on "The War of the Worlds," the radio broadcase in the 1930's that put little Grover's Mill on the map. They have a full array of the usual coffee drinks, along with assorted pastries and the like. What sets this spot apart is the decor: memorabilia that celebrates the War of The worlds abounds everywhere. I felt a bit like I was on a hollywood lot, with props and so forth in the store.
